November Favourites!

Hey everybody!

Can you believe that it's almost CHRISTMAS?! I'm so excited for it! It's my favourite time of the year!

So, November was a mixed month for me! The highlight of my month was seeing my oldest brother getting married. :) It was a beautiful day for my family. We all had such an amazing day!

The low of the month for me was a family friend passing away aged just 22 years old. It was such a shock to the close knit community that I live in. His passing definitely put things into perspective. Life is short to be anything other than happy. Live each day to the fullest.

So with that being said, let's get down to business!

My favourites this month are a bit of a mixed bag!

First up is Schwarzkopf Got2B Glued Blasting Freeze Spray. This is my favourite hair spray ever! This is gooood stuff! I bought this after Nikki Tutorials recommended it in one of her videos recently! LOVE!

Next up is a cheap as chips dupe! It's Suddenly Madame Glamour perfumme. You can get it in Lidl for €3.99 and I'm not joking when I say this is a dupe for Chanel Mademoiselle. This stuff lasts all day. I love Chanel Mademoiselle but I can't afford to get a new bottle so this is definitely a great alternative!

I love my 'drugstore' foundations and I think that there are so many amazing ones out there. You don't necessarily need to spend a shed load of money on expensive ones when you can get the same benefits from a less expensive one from the 'drugstore'! With that being said, my favourite foundation this month is from L'Oréal and it's the True Match foundation. I always stray away and try other foundations but ultimately, I always come back to this!

So, on a recent shopping trip to Blanchardstown Shopping Centre, I accidently picked up Urban Decay Naked Skin BB Cream instead of their primer. I am so impressed by this! I use it as a primer and so far it's been amazing! I've a review to come soon!

Next up is my trusty Urban Decay Primer Potion. This is my favourite eyeshadow primer. Enough said really!

My favourite nail product of the month is Catrice Quick Dry and Shine Top Coat. I don't tend to spend a lot of money on nail products and this is definitely great quality at a low price! In general, Catrice is one of my favourite makeup brands. They do some amazing products, so if you haven't checked their products out yet, and they're available to you, I definitely recommend you give their products a try! :)

And lastly is something a little different. It's Cosmetic buds from Penneys Love This beauty brand. They're double ended, obviously. One end is a q tip and the other side is flat. Both are perfect for makeup application and clean up. It's available for €1. Bargain!

So, that's my favourites for this month! I am super excited for Christmas!

What makeup products are on your Christmas wishlist?

One Million Dubliners - A Captivating Documentary

Hey everybody,

I know it's been awhile since I've posted anything but I felt compelled to share with you, a documentary that I watched recently.

After reading a lot of tweets from people raving about this I had to watch it for myself to see what it was really about.

If you want to watch the trailer, click here.

One Million Dubliners is a documentary directed by Aoife Kelleher. One of the opening lines in the documentary is "there are 1.5 million people buried in Glasnevin cemetary and the population of the whole of Dublin is 1.2 million. There are more people buried in Glasnevin than there are walking around Dublin." That to me is just an amazing statistic.

So, One Million Dubliners is centred around Glasnevin cemetery in Dublin, where we meet the historian and tour guide, Shane Mac Thomáis. It's apparent from the beginning that he is charismatic and interesting and very passionate about his job. From the beginning of the film, I was enthralled by his stories. Not only do we meet Shane who gives us a little background into the historical figures who are buried at Glasnevin cemetery but he gives us some insight into his affiliation with the cemetery too. We also hear the stories of people who have loved ones bureid at the cemetery too. It's such a poignant and moving film.

If there's one thing you do this month, I'd recommend that you watch this beautiful and moving film. It's available from the RTÉ player here. I believe it's available on the RTÉ player for a couple more weeks but if you can't get access to the RTÉ player, it's also available on DVD from this Friday, November 28th.

It's not something that I usually share here but it really moved me and I just had to share.

July Favourites

Hey there!

I know I sound like a Granny when I say this but, can you believe how fast this year is going? I can't believe it's August already!

So, let's get to my favourites for this month! :)

The first thing I've been loving not just this month but for quite awhile now is Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water. It costs €6.49 and lasts such a long time! My sensitive skin hasn't had any problems with this so far and it doesn't leave a weird film on your face like some cleansing lotions tend to.

As we've been relatively lucky with the sunshine here in Ireland this summer, my Cocoa Brown Chocolate Whip Moisturiser has been keeping my skin beautifully moisturised and prolonging my tan. I absolutely LOVE the smell of this! Whether you're trying to prolong your fake tan or your natural tan, this is the perfect moisturiser to do just that!

Next is something that I've just recently came across and so far I'm really liking this too. It's the Aussie Miracle Dry Shampoo. It took awhile for me to get used to the smell of this but it is a great dry shampoo. It's definitely something that I will be re-purchasing.

A foundation that I've been loving a lot lately is the Catrice All Matt Plus Shine Control Make Up. I am planning to do a review on this but for the warmer weather, this is the foundation that I found myself reaching for the most this month!

And lastly is a concealer which I have heard alot about but everytime I went to buy it, my shade was sold out. By chance a few weeks ago, I found one in my shade and couldn't wait to get it. It's the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer. I understand the hype surrounding this too! It is hands down, the best drugstore concealer I've used to date.

So, there you have it, short and sweet! :)
I'm trying to keep my favourite products each month at 5 just to keep the waffling to a minimum! :)

What have your favourite products been this month? Have you any recommendations for me?

TAG TUESDAY: The Beauty Blogger Tag!

Hey there!

Recently, I've been loving watching tag videos on Youtube and reading tag blogposts. I came across this tag awhile ago so I decided to give it a go too! So, if you're interested, come get to know me a bit better! :)

1. Is your hair naturally curly or straight?
When I was little, I had the curliest hair but as I got older, the curls disappeared. It's straight with a little bit of a wave.

2. What is your natural hair colour?
It's naturally a light brown.

3.Do you dye it yourself or go to a salon?
My best friend is a hair dresser so he does it for me! :)

4. How often do you wash your hair?
Every second day.

5. Do you wear the same style everyday or change it?
Mainly I just wear it down. If I'm going out I usually curl it and wear it pulled to the side.

6. Do you do your own mani/pedi or go to a salon?
I would love to be able to go to a salon to get my nails done but nope, for now I do them myself.

7. How often do you change your nail polish?
I only apply nail polish once a week because I'm very conscious of damaging them with constantly wearing and removing nail polish.

8. Do you polish your toes in the winter too, or just the summer?
I use nail polish on my toenails throughout the year. I just change the colours. In the winter I wear darker colours but in the summer, I usually stick to red on my toenails.

9. How long does it take to put on your makeup?
For a normal daytime look, usually about 5-10 minutes. If I'm going out it will take about a half an hour. I'm a perfectionist and I always like my makeup to look perfect :)

10. What do you do first? Face or eyes?
I apply my eye primer first, let that set and then I'll apply my face primer and let that absorb into my skin and then go ahead and apply my eye makeup. Then I'll finish up with my face makeup. :)

11. Do you collect makeup or just buy what you need when you need it?
I suppose I do both. I definitely have a makeup collection. When it comes to mascara, foundation and concealers, I'll buy them as I need them but everything else I kind of collect! :)

12. How often do you wear false lashes?
I don't wear false lashes that often because I wear glasses all of the time. If I'm going out and I'm just wearing my contacts, I'll always wear false lashes but when I'm wearing my glasses I don't bother.

13. Do you do a full face of makeup everyday?
No, only if I'm going out or going somewhere nice. My everyday makeup consists mainly of concealer, powder and a little bit of contouring but most days, I don't wear makeup.

14. Do you wear makeup when you are home alone (or with family)?
No.

15. Will you leave the house without makeup?
Yes. I don't wear makeup everyday.

16. How many high end products do you own?
My collection is mainly drugstore products but I do own products from high end brands too.

17. How often do you wash your makeup brushes?
The truth be told, I should wash them more often but I can be very lazy with washing them!

18. Do you plan your OOTD every night or decide when you get dressed?
For OOTD for the blog, I definitely pre plan it. But day to day I just choose the first thing that comes to my hand in the mornings! :)

19. How often do you change your handbag?
Not often but I definitely need to! I think it's time for a bit of retail therapy! :)

20. What time do you get up and go to sleep?
Typically I get up at 9ish and go to bed around 11.30-12ish.

21. How often and when do you workout?
To be honest, I used to work out 3 times per week and walk on average 12 miles per week. I don't like running. Mainly because I look like Phoebe from friends when I run haha! Starting this week, I plan to start getting my fitness regime back to what it was!

22. Left-handed or right-handed?
Right-handed.

23. How tall are you?
5'2 1/2"

24. Do you speak a foreign language?
No, I studied French in school but I really wasn't very good at it.

25. How many pets do you have?
I have two white West Highland Terriers. Snowy (female), aged 9 1/2 years and Buster (male), aged 9 months. :)

26. How often are you on Blogger?
I haven't been on it as regularly as I would have liked now that I'm getting back into the swing of things with my blogging, I'm on it daily, working and planning upcoming blogposts and reading other bloggers blogs too. :)

27. Do you read the comments posted to blogs?
I sure do.

28. Do you keep a list of products to try as you see them on other posts?
Yes, I do! I'm a list lover! Otherwise I would completely forget about them!

29. How did you come up with your blog name?
My Makeup Vanity is something I talk about a lot so it just seemed like the perfect thing to name it.

30. What kind of camera do you use for photographs?
Right now, I'm camera-less and saving for a new one. So right now, I'm using my phone! It is a pain, I won't lie!

31. How often do you clean your house? (Daily, weekly, other)
Daily. Weird question haha

32. What is your favourite colour?
Purple.

33. What is your favourite beauty/fashion magazine?
Cosmopolitan

34. Do you swear?
Yep!

35. What are you doing with the rest of your day?
Right now it's 9:20p,m. and I plan on relaxing and catching up on my favourite tv shows! :)

Wow, that was lot of questions but there you have it! I hope you've enjoyed getting to know me a little better! :)

MANI-MONDAY! Bubblegum Glitter!

Hey everybody,

How was your weekend? Mine was busy but I had a great one with good friends! I hope your weekend was good too!

Anyway, onto business!

So, it's just another "Mani-Monday"... :)

I may or may not have mentioned this before but I only paint my nails once a week because I'm very conscious about damaging my nails so I tend to limit painting them to once a week.

So with that being said, I've started a weekly series called "Mani-Monday". Please excuse the quality of my photos. I'm camera-less at the moment and I'm using my phone!

The nail polish that I've used this week are; NYC Quick Dry Nail Polish in 264 Lincoln Square Lavendar. Then on my ring fingers I have Catrice Ultimate Nail Lacquer in 40 I'm Dynamite.

What's your go to colour for this time of the year?

Saturday Chit Chat!

Hey everybody,

So, I'm finally beginning to feel inspired again and I'm finding that I'm starting to enjoy blogging again. Taking advantage of that, I've decided to share a blogpost with you today. So why not start with a little chin wag?

Can you believe that July is almost over? I'm not going to lie. I'll be glad to see the end of July. It was one of the hardest months ever for me but I'm here to tell the tale so that's all that counts, eh? :) I've learned so much and I'm definitely a stronger person from everything that I've been through.

One thing I will say without going into too much detail, if you are feeling depressed and you feel like life is getting too much to handle, always speak to someone. I know at the time you may think that talking to someone won't help you, but trust me, suffering in silence is so much harder. Even if you feel that you don't have anyone you can turn to, there are so many charities and people out there that are ready and willing to help you. You don't have to go through it alone.

So onto something completely different but I really cannot get enough of Ed Sheeran! His voice is so amazing. And his new album X is absolutely fantastic! Whilst we're talking about amazing musicians, what about The Script's new song Superheroes? Such a beautiful song! The lyrics of their songs always resonate with me. Such an amazing band! :)

And for any of my fellow 50 Shades of Grey fans. What do you think of the trailer? ;) I know there are a lot of people that are disappointed with Jamie Dornan being Christian Grey but for me, he is perfect for the role. So far, he's what I expected Christian to be. Let's hope he lives up to our expectations! ;)

I don't know if it's the heat but over the past few weeks, my skin has really been problematic. It's gone from being really dry to really oily and blackheads are a major problem at the moment. Do you have any skincare recommendations that can help my skin?

Hello July!

Hey there!

I know I've been MIA recently but, my laptop decided to have a breakdown. So while the old girl is getting fixed, I've decided to start blogging again by using my phone! It'll be hard and annoying but, it'll be worth it! :)

So, instead of posting a 'June Favourites' blogpost, I've decided to do a 'Hello July' post this month.

June hasn't been the best month for me. From missing loved ones to worrying about this and that, it's been a tough one.

So, instead of a favourites blogpost, I'm going to share my goals for the coming month with you.

1. Be happy.
-No matter what the situation or how bad it may seem, always find the positives from each situation. Always look forward not back.

2. Don't over analyse everything!
-I tend to overthink absolutely everything. This month I'm going to make a massive effort to change that. Sometimes, I tend to make problems from the things that I'm overthinking. The majority of the time, these aren't even a problem. Is this just a 'Linda thing' or are you like that too? Please don't tell me I'm on my own! Haha.

3. Get back to working out again!
-Over the past couple of months, I've gotten lazy and my workouts have gradually disappeared. I walk on average, 12 miles per week but I just feel so much better when I work out. So this month, I'm going to incorporate it back into my routine again.

4. Start eating properly again. And drink more water!
-Sometimes, if I let things get to me or I'm stressed, my diet tends to suffer. So for July, I want to start looking after myself a little better and start eating healthily again.

5. Start reading again.
-I love books but recently, I haven't made time to read. So this month, I want to start getting back into it. Have you any book suggestions for me?

6. Start watching my YouTube subscriptions more frequently.
-I definitely need to start making more time for it. I get inspired by some of my favourite YouTube gurus so, I definitely need to start watching more frequently! :)

And there you have it! These are my goals for the coming month. They may not be for everyone but they're things for me to work on over the coming month.

What are yours?

REVIEW: EcoTools Fresh & Flawless Five Piece Complexion Set

Hey there!

Last month, I picked up these babies for €16.95 in Boots and they haven't disappointed me so far!

In it you get a flat concealer brush, buffing concealer brush, precision foundation brush, complexion blending brush and full powder brush.

The bristles are cruelty free and the ferrules are made from recycled aluminum. That's always very welcome here at My Make-Up Vanity!

The flat concealer, precision foundation and the full powder brushes are really good and are great to have in your brush collection. They are great quality brushes and do their supposed job brilliantly but, the brushes from this set that I tend to reach for the most are the buffing concealer brush and the complexion blending brush and those are the ones that I'm going to talk about today.

The buffing concealer brush is perfect to use for blending the concealer to the under eye area. It gives an airbrushed look, just how I like it! Before I found this brush, I used to find that no matter what concealer that I applied to this area, they always tended to look cakey. Since I've started using this, it has made such a big difference to how it settles to the fine lines in this area. I use this brush to apply the powder to set the concealer under the eye too. It's perfect for buffing the edges of concealer applied to blemishes also! It's definitely my most loved brush in the set!

And lastly, is the complexion blending brush. This is the perfect brush for giving a natural, airbrushed finish to the skin. Whether it's cream, liquid or mineral foundation, this brush helps the foundation to apply beautifully to the skin. Although the bristles are quite compact, they're still flexible enough to leave your skin looking flawless!

I'm very eager to try more of the makeup brushes from EcoTools. Have you tried any of their products? Have you any recommendations?

Products I Regret Buying!

Hey there!

Over the past few months, I've bought some things that I had high hopes for but I was let down by.

There aren't many so let's get down to business! :)

After seeing some hype online about the Garnier Moisture Match Ultra Hydrating Rich Cream, I gave into the hype and bought this. I had high hopes for it but it completely let me down. I found it to be very greasy on my skin and after about an hour of applying it, I could feel a massive spot ready to attack. Not sure if it was something else causing these mysterious breakouts, I decided to give it a shot anyway. Worst mistake ever! This does not agree or like my skin in anyway! I think maybe that the strong (but beautiful) scent had something to do with this. Sad days.

The next product is something that I read a lot about but I didn't get the hype surrounding this at all. It's the L'Oréal True Match Foundation. I don't like the finish of this foundation and the fact that it made my pores look bigger than they usually do. It just didn't do anything for me! I do love the L'Oréal Nude Magique Eau de Teint though! :) That is hands down, my favourite L'Oréal foundation!

Like I've mentioned before on previous blog posts, I'm constantly on a mission to find a face primer from the drugstore that is comparable to a higher end one. After reading some reviews online about the Maybelline Baby Skin Primer, I decided to continue my mission! This is the most disappointing purchase of them all. It just seems like a pointless product. It did nothing to help to improve my pores which was hugely disappointing considering one of the claims that comes with this is that it's an 'instant pore eraser'. I didn't find that it helped to keep the oily parts of my skin matte either. From consistency to longevity, this is definitely one of the most disappointing products that I've tried in awhile.

Ok, enough ranting! Onto the last item.

It's the Collection No Clumps Definition Mascara. Well, it definitely clumps the lashes together. I think the wand is too flimsy and that because of that it's hard to control it. Too much of the product comes out on the wand and the formula is way too thick for me! I tried but I just couldn't get the best from this one!

So there we have it, the products that I regret buying over the past couple of months. What products do you regret buying?

February Favourites!

Ah, February. My favourite month of the year! It was an absolutely hectic one, it wasn't as good to me as I had hoped but that's life, eh?!

Fashion wise, I love February because you're past the dreariness of the dull winter wardrobe colours, and back to adding a little colour back into our lives!

My favourites from February are a bit of a mixed range. So, let's get down and dirty...

I don't know if this is just me but, during the winter, I'm not one of those ladies that likes to apply fake tan. I don't know, maybe it's just because I'm lazy. This however, is my favourite time of the year to tan - when spring is in the air and summer's so close you can almost smell it! My favourite tan of the moment is Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan. It is hands down the best tan that I have ever used. Being a super pale cailín, it's a pain trying to find a tan that looks natural. THIS however, is the answer to my prayers!

So, as I've mentioned before, I have ombré hair. I was thinking about dyeing it and going back to brown all over but seeing as we're heading towards summer, I said I'd give my locks one more chance! One of the reasons I wanted to go back to having completely brown hair was that, the blonde is so expensive to maintain. That being said, the products that I'm about to mention, have made a considerably big difference to the blonde part of my hair. I've been using the Bleach London Silver Shampoo and the John Frieda Sheer Blonde Highlight Activating Conditioner. I use the John Frieda Sheer Blonde Go Blonder Lightening Spray too. Using these three products has really made a difference in eliminating and preventing the brassy tones that usually come with blonde hair.

Next is skincare! My favourite cleansers always tend to be Garnier. I don't tend to use their moisturisers because they usually break me out in massive ugly spots. Trust me, I'm not exaggerating. OK then, maybe a tiny bit. I recently decided to give Simple skincare a try again as I hadn't used any of their products since I was a teenager. I bought the Simple cleanser, used it on my skin and instantly remembered why I stopped using it back then. After first application, it didn't take long for the attack of the zits! Ugh, not good! So I went back with open arms to my Garnier Simply Essentials Cleansing Lotion. And so far, so good!

And lastly, this is something that I love and I have carried around with me everywhere (well in my handbag, otherwise that would just be weird)  since I bought it. It's the Inglot Loose Powder. It takes away the shine from my skin and makes my makeup last longer than most face powders do. Although, it does tend to get a bit messy with it being a loose powder and all but I can forgive it for that - it's worth the mess!

And there you have it, my February favourites.

What have you been loving recently?

NOTD: Glitter Heaven!

Hi there!

So, like I mentioned in my Makeup Haul blogpost, recently I bought the NYC Expert Last Nail Polish in 105 Lights-Camera- Glitter and Catrice Ultimate Nail Lacquer in 107 Genius In The Bottle.

I was very eager to try both of them out together. In the bottle, the Catrice Nail Lacquer looks like an iridescent colour with blue, green and gold tones in it. I thought that it would be an interesting colour on the nails but when I tried it out, it just applies as a gold colour. I'm disappointed that none of the other colours made it out of the bottle! It is a pretty colour on it's own but it's just not what I had expected it to be.

So, with that on my nails, I paired it with the NYC Glitter polish. I'm really liking this! The polish itself looks clear but when applied to the nails, it comes off as a silver colour. There are small particles of glitter that are pink and blue. There are bigger particles of blue and pink glitter too. I would only use this as a top coat. When it's paired with a colour underneath and after two coats of it to the nail, it looks so pretty!

One of the claims with this polish is that it makes your nails 50% stronger within 7 days. It also claims that the polish lasts up to 7 days but that's a bit presumptuous though!

And here's what they look like on the nails!

What's are your favourite nail polish at the moment?

Linda, XO

Sunday Chit Chat!

Hey there!

So, how was your weekend? And your Valentine's Day? I hope everyone had a great one, regardless if you celebrate it or not! :)
Me? Well, I'm anti-Valentines Day at the moment but I'll be honest, it's because I'm single! :P Haha!

So the past week and a half has been a hectic one for me!

But...first off let me say, the best part of last week for me was IRELAND BEATING WALES in the 6 Nations last week!! I am a MASSIVE rugby fan and I can't tell you how happy I was that the lads won! It was definitely the start of an amazing weekend for me! :)

So, the real high of the week for me was definitely turning 25 last Thursday. I had the best day and weekend! I'm gonna tell you a little story, so get comfortable! :) Since becoming an adult, I've never really celebrated my birthday properly. Obviously, the day was still marked by my family and friends but for me, I didn't feel like celebrating it. My best friend died 2 days before my 14th birthday in 2003, and her funeral was on my birthday and since then, I never ever wanted to celebrate it. The thought of celebrating my birthday, always made me feel guilty. This year though, on account of turning 25, and it being somewhat of a milestone, I thought it was time to start celebrating. It's what my best friend would've wanted too.

So with two of my friends in tow, we headed to Cavan! We went to see the very brilliant Nathan Carter in the very beautiful Kilmore Hotel in Cavan. It was a dance and I'd never been to one before and I didn't know what to expect, BUT, it was THE best night my friends and I have had out, ever! Such an amazing atmosphere! A week on, and my feet are still sore from all the dancing! :P For me, it was the perfect birthday, so thank you to my lovely friends for coming all that way for me! :)

My low of the week has to be dealing with poorly trained and downright rude hotel receptionists! This week I was organising a night away in Co. Wexford. Organising the night was easy but dealing with people with no communication or people skills, was extremely frustrating! After a couple of days with dealing with these people, I was so close to just cancelling the night completely. Now, that it's sorted though, I'm looking forward to it! :)

I'm hoping that this week will be relatively less dramatic and hopefully a little more relaxing! :)

What have been your high's and low's from the past week?

Makeup Haul!

Hey there!

I have never done a haul before, so I decided to give it a shot and share with you some of the things that I've picked up! :)

It was my birthday last week and I decided to get myself a few birthday presents, you know, just because! :)

I picked up the Inglot Loose Powder in number 12. I got it from the Inglot store in Dundrum town centre. It cost €22 which is amazing because you get 30g of  the product! So far, I'm loving it!

The next two products that I got are both nail polishes and both are from the pharmacy. They're the NYC Expert Last Nail Polish in 105 Lights-Camera-Glitter and Catrice Ultimate Nail Lacquer in 07 Genius In The Bottle. The NYC one cost €1.99 and the Catrice one was about €2.99. I'm looking forward to paring both of these babies together!

Because, I have such pale skin, I have a problem finding a contour colour that is just right for me. I found the perfect one for me this week though! It's the NYC Color Wheel Mosaic Face Powder in Translucent Highlighter Glow. Even though the name suggests that it's a highlighter glow, it is the perfect contour colour for me!

After hearing the amazing SoSueMe raving about this mascara, I had to try it for myself! It's the NYC Big Bold Volume By The Lash Mascara in 857 Extra Black. This is actually my second tube and I'm loving it! I paid €3.99 for this in my local pharmacy. Perfect!

So, I am on a constant quest to find an inexpensive eye brow pencil that is actually good. So, this past week, my noble quest continued! I came across this Catrice Eye Brow Stylist Pencil in 030 Brow-n-eyed Peas. It was €2.79. I'm not completely loving this at the moment but watch this space!

And lastly, I picked up Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan. As a super pale Irish gal, when I'm actually bothered to tan, I don't like to be too dark or an odd shade of orange, so Cocoa Brown is the only one for me! I leave it on for just one hour for a more natural look but if you prefer to go darker, you can leave it on longer. In general, I love the whole Cocoa Brown range. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on some of the new products being released in March!

There you have it! A few of the things that I've treated myself to recently.
What products have you bought that you're loving?

Linda, xo

NOTW: Ink Stain!

So, here we are. The first weekend of 2014 is nearly through. Did you make any new year resolutions? Did you keep them? I'll be completely honest with you, like I mentioned in my last post, I did make resolutions like eating healthier and exercising more frequently, but I haven't exactly started yet! There's always tomorrow, eh?! :)

OK, so back to business! Right now in Ireland, the weather is even more depressing than usual. So, my nails of the week reflect my mood! Oh summer, where are YOU?!

I'm a big fan of NYC makeup products and I've been really impressed with their nail polishes recently. The one that I'm wearing this week is NYC Expert Last Nail Polish in 115 Ink Stain. It's a beautiful midnight blue, inky colour. I prefer wearing colours like this on my nails during this time of the year, opposed to a flat matte black. It still adds a little bit of colour but it's still perfect for the season too.

(Apologies for the poor quality of the picture! I'm using my phone until I can get a new camera! :) Please excuse the polished cuticles too!)

What's your favourite colour for A/W?

Happy New Year!

First off, let me say Happy New Year! I hope that 2014 brings you good health and happiness. I can't believe how fast this year has gone by! Like most people, for me, this year has had it's highs and it's had it's lows, but most importantly, we're here to tell the tale, eh?! What doesn't kill you, definitely makes you stronger! :)

I'm optimistic and hopeful for the new year. In terms of blogging, I've finally found my feet. I'll be working harder this year at something that I truly love. It's such an amazing community to be apart of!

Of course I'm obviously going to eat healthier, drink more water and exercise more frequently. Well for at least two weeks anyway. :)

But in general though, I'm just going to take each day as it comes. I'm going to fill my time with the ones that I love, see my amazing friends more often and smile more and worry less. Life's too short for it to be any other way! :)

Sending love and best wishes for the coming year to you and yours.
